Presbyterians Read

This Advent, join with other Presbyterians from across the country as we read Walter Bruggemann’s Celebrating Abundance. This Advent book study is a denomination initiative. This will be something to share and talk with our fellow Presbyterians. Using thoughtfully prepared small group and individual weekly study guides, Presbyterians will journey through Advent reflecting on themes of God’s abundance as revealed through the small details of faith stories—a cry in the wilderness, a teenage mother, a worn down stable and a promise of a new day.

Emmaus Team
If you would like to join the Emmaus Group please talk to Jim, Lindy, Les, Sandy, Barb or Ian.  We would love to have your input.  If you would like to donate to the Emmaus Group outreach programs, you can do so through your envelopes – “Other” – “Emmaus”.  Thank you for your prayers and support in reaching out to our neighbours.

Join the JoyBells Handbell Choir!

They practice on Saturday morning from 10:00am – 12:00pm.  Their performances for the public are during the Christmas season on Saturday afternoons and during May, also on Saturday afternoons.  The only requirement is that you read music beyond a beginning level.  Handbell ringing experience is not required as we will teach technique in context with the music we are playing.  We also play in some church services. Please contact Alma at if you are interested in joining!

Join the Choir!

Do you love to sing? Our choir is searching for more singers.  We sing traditional to contemporary, and practices are Thursday evenings from 7:30om to 9:00pm. The choir sings in the service every Sunday at 10:30am. Please contact Alma at if you are interested in joining!

Lunch Program

In the past, we participated in the lunch program of the Society on Homelessness. The Society has changed their focus - instead of lunches, they are now offering nutritious snacks to the same people. Since they have changed their program, any money that was in the lunch program, or any future donations will now be forwarded to the Health Snacks Program of the Society on Homelessness.

Little Tasks Around the Church - Volunteers Needed
This month, one of our members volunteered some of her time to help the church by doing one of the little jobs around the church, the pew shelves are much cleaner now. Throughout the year, there are other little jobs that need done. Some jobs only need to be done once (20 minutes), while others need to be done 5-6 times (10 minutes) throughout the year.

Some of the little jobs we are looking for right now are:

- removing some crayon marks from a few walls

- changing the pulpit falls

If you have some time and can help out, speak to Cal and he will arrange a time with you.

Throughout the year, you may wish to remember a day that is special or memorable for your family. If you wish to share this with your church family and bring in your own flowers, GREAT! Or if you would like, Rose Pals will look after it for you. In either case, please let Rose know. She can be reached by phoning her at home at 604-536-9550. We thank Rose for her ministry.

Welcome to our community of faith.
